HELP!!! Music files skip or stop. Tried everything

I got my axim about two weeks ago. I also got a 512 mb sandisk CF card from dell. Since the day I got it I have been trying to get music files to play without problems. I have tried everything. So far I have tried different players (wmp, pocket music, pocket music feature pack, and withmp3). I have tried different file formats (wma, mp3, ogg). I have tried differnt bitrates (from 64kbps to 192kbps). I have tried reformatting the card with storage tools to fat 32 with several different cluster sizes. Still everytime I transfer files and play them they skip or stop. I don't know if the card is bad, but anyother app that I put on there works fine??Does anyone else have any other suggestions??? Please help!!!

I have a similar issue,

Same setup (see below)
have not reformatted card (too much on it)...
The skipping I overcame with withMP3 buffering, Increased and skipping/popping removed. but after 30mins or so it stops, that is the axim eventually resets itself..

Any ideas would be nice.

Software running at startup or in today screen are,
td clock
tdlaunch
todaysinfo
switcher
pocketcandy (have to have a matrix screen saver)
side-x

Then the only app running is withMp3........
