i just spent a few hours playing with conduits pocket player 2.....its a highly featured program, lots of eye candy to play with. ive been switching back and forth from it and Withmp3 (my fav prog to date sound quality wise) to see if it could beat it....in a nut shell, no. it has problems with the same varible bitrate files that would skip with pocketmusic...not so bad as pocketmusic which literally skipped, but you can still hear a very faint hickup on some tracks that Withmp3 plays flawlessly....also, after trying all kinds of eq settings, Withmp3 is still able to produce a slightly cleaner sound....
bottom line, Withmp3 is still the best "mp3" player in my books.
update: trying some of my fav winamp skins with it, everyone ive tried has had some glitch....winamp skin support does not seem as good as other players with winamp skin support.
I spent yesterday doing extensive testing between Pocketmusic and WithMP3. I will fininsh writing it up today and hopefully post it later this evening.
I'm between the two players myself (Pocketmusic and WithMP3). Conduits is offering a 25% off sale price of $14.95 until the end of July, after which it will cost $19.95. Does WithMP3 ever go on sale?
you mean pocketplayer 2, pocket music is another player all together lol.....they need more creative names....
withmp3 is only $15.75 at handango.......try both of them before you pick...., ide love to switch over to pocket player 2 and get it skinned like ide like it, but for me sound quality comes aboave all else, and i use only mp3's, so im sticking with Withmp3 for now.
im waiting for my confirmation email from conduits forums so i can start posting about my problems with it, but it doesent seem to be comeing....have to register again i guess lol.
Just tried Pocket Player 2. Some nice features (particularly cross fade), but it just does not sound as good as either PocketMusic or WithMP3.
I've stuck with PocketMusic, particularly with v.2 with it's ogg support, and the new extra bass dsp. Also, the problems older versions had with skipping seemed to have completely disappeared for me. The EQ for ogg is not the best though.
Ive just been mucking around with pocket player and i like it! i didnt get on with pocket music and ive not seen withmp3 yet so ill have to have a look.
Still im holding off buying a music prog till ppc2003 is released in case microsoft have made a decent player from wmp9 (doubtful i know)

I love this player, finally a player with windows media player control type set with a thousand more features. No more crapping around with tiny buttons. This is a great player.
Pocket Player 2 seems to occasionally stop play on some of my mp3 and/or ogg files. It's an intermittant problem. I can't repeat it at the same point in the song. Soft reset helped lessen the problem, but it didnt completely go away. Anyone else experience this?
I have Pocket Player installed and running, but any change to the settings (e.g. EQ settings) and the volume jumps to full. The volume also starts at full when launched. Also leaves the volume at full when exiting. I have to go each time and change the system volume back to a normal level.
Using withMP3, it ran fine the first time I installed the trial version and used the free software key that they gave me. But each time I've gone to use it since, it just sits there. The application launches, but it won't play any files. I've tried unloading and loading. No luck. Also tried contacting Handago, where I got the fine. No luck.
I'm back to using WMP9, which is about a 5 out of 10 in my opinion. Any thoughts?
