Question battery?

Does anyone know, if I use my Axim to play music for an extended amount of time (say on a plane trip from Europe to USA), how long can I do that before my battery will die? I won't have a way of recharging it until I arrive in the U.S. and I don't want it to die before I get there.

Thanks,
Beckey

Well if you are using Windows Media Player,
-set power to PowerSave (Start\Settings\System tab, tap on Power tap on Processor tab)
-Set brightness on "Dim" (after closing power, tap on Brightness and "On battery power" slide all the way to the left.)
-In your WMP, choose "Tools\settings\buttons" to map/choose your buttons. In Part 1. Select Function, choose "Screen Toggle". For part 2. Press Hardware Button, press a button w/c you would fell comfortable with to turn the screen off. While you are playing music, press this button to turn the screen off.

These are my settings and I can get anywhere from 6 to 8 hours before my battery goes critical.

Don't forget to disable IrDA Receiving, that drains the battery too if it's always on.

Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Beam

I just got the opposite reaction. I turned my beaming off around 10a central time and an hour later I lost 2% of my power. I usually go well into the afternoon before I lose this much or even go down to 99%. I saw a post about this before also. Then again I also saw a post a few months back that doing this locks the processor at 400MHZ if you have the Axim Advance.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. That should be plenty of time (6-8 hours). I won't be listening to it the entire time.

Great! Just give it a try and see if it works out for you before you go. that way you can have time to get back here and ask more questions if you have any. :)
