While "patiently" (cough) waiting for my Axim to arrive, I've been reading up on what it can do, downloading software, ripping movies, rearranging furniture, checking the Dell/UPS sites every 5 minutes etc. My question is about the "ripping movies" part. I followed the pocketmatrix.com guide and ripped my Monsters INC DVD into a 160MB Divx file. so far, so good. But when I play it in WMP on my XP box it looks fairly choppy. Not horrible, but not as good as I was hoping for. I'd guess it's running at maybe 11fps or so. Is this about the quality I should expect, or did I set something wrong along the way?

I would wait till you play it on the axim, it could be smoother because it is extreamly low quality and your computer can handle more. When I made SpaceBalls the movie into 160 mb it looked pretty bad (quality, choppy frames) on the pc (AMD 2200+xp, MSI GF4-4400), but looked very smooth on the axim. it was weird.
