Anyone have a sample video of over 50 MB?

Every vid I have converted takes over 5 minutes to
start playiong on my Dell Axim, i was wondering if its
just my conversion techniques.... or my wireless network
(all of my vids are streaming to my pda over a wireless network)

Anyone have any idea why it takes my movies so long to
load please help, I have done a hard reset of my device and
installed only Pocket MVP and my wireless networking driver..
so it cant be any of my software... please help..

Pete

What is your memory buffer set for?
Try using a smaller value and see if it helps.

Two things:

1) Do you have a memory card you could load a movie on to test how it plays when not streaming over the network?

2) If it loads faster when installed locally on a memory card, try increasing TCP packet sizes in your network settings to get it to stream faster.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am ordering a 256 MB compact flash
card soon, and I have increased the TCP packet size.

Also I tried all settings on the buffer size, and it loaded
fastes with it turned off but still took several minutes.

Thanks

pete

I really think it's just the nature ov Pocket MVP, when it gets a file that needs further processing to fit the PPC. I've noticed this effect of long load times with files that are too big format-wise, or especially ones that need to be rotated. Try Pocket TV and see if it handles those files better. I have both loaded, and use MVP mostly, except when it chokes.
I think it only plays mpegs though.

Thats kind of what I thought too, But I hear people
talking about it, and Pocket MVP loads their movies instantly
even over wireless networks.. and I rotate my
movies in a filter on V-Dub.. so they dont have to be rotated
on pocket mvp..
