Just when I was about to give up, I finally found a way tp play .wmv files at normal speed on a iPAQ 3835 with OS 2002.

1- Go to www.hp.com, click on the 'Downloads and Drivers' link, and download the 'iPAQ Pocket PC 2002 End User Update' (EUU-Service Pack) on your PC, then sync it with your iPAQ. The file, named SP22546.exe, is about 8 megs. Among other things, it flashes your ROM with an updated version of Windows Media Player, version 8.5. This version plays .wmv files much faster than the old version, but it is still slower than normal.

2- Go to www.jimmysoftware.com, click on the 'Downloads' link, and download and install 'J S Overclock' (iPAQclk.exe) on your iPAQ. I recommend adding it to your Start Menu on your iPAQ. Run the app and set to maximum speed, 236 mhz, and click the ' Apply' button. Now your .wmv files should play at normal speed.

Has anyone tried this before? So far, I haven't had any problems.
