Problems with WMV/IPAQ

I'm sorry if I sound like a complete idiot when I ask this, but my Ipaq is relatively new to me and I'm not the most technically minded person ever!

I have an IPAQ H1910 and I just installed Windows Media 8 off the cd that came with it onto it, the problem is it doesnt seem to play a .wmv file I have- a video. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix this or go about finding out why not?

Thank you for your help!

I'm guessing that it is one of two things. The first is that you need to install Windows Media Player 9 which you can probably download from Microsoft's website. I searched but couldn't find it quickly. I'll do some more searching after I post this.

Second, you may have a corrupted or bad file. What is the error that you get?

EDIT:
Actually, there is no WMP9 for Pocket PC. View this article and it explains the problem:

Thank you! That does solve my problem- as my friend did the video so it's bound to be that. I'll have to install Windows Media 7 instead :-D

(Now all I have to do is navigate windows hell to find the download!)

EDit: Though I've now discovered windows media 7 doesnt work with my PDA, so i'm attempting to change the media file in movie maker! Ho hum!!

Yay!! I made it work- before I was only getting sound, so I put the clip into movie maker and saved it as a new file (and even found an option for Pocket PC devices!) and saved it... and it works! Video and sound! I'm not that technologically inept after all!

No WMP9 for Pocket PC? Hmmn, so what do i have in my Ipaq 2215?
It says Windows Media Player 9 Series. Running on WM2003. I'm confused.

Anyways, I play a lot of movies/tv series on my Ipaq. I use PocketDVD Studio software to convert DVDs to AVI files- which plays on a DIVX player or AVI player (like Pocket MVP). I have encoded avi to wmv- and it plays fine on the WMP9- or so i thought it is wmp9...
