I have loaded a number of properly sized jpeg photos in "Today" and use them for background or view them consectively from file finder.
Is there any way, with the standard Axim software, to show the photos as a slide show?

If you just want to show them as a slide show you can use Resco Picture Viewer that comes with the ax.

Photo->Start slide show

You can adjust the settings for transitions, delay, etc

But if you want to do the slideshow as a background for the today screen then I think you'll need a theme rotator
