I'm a TOTAL newbie to PDAs.. I just bought my HP RX3115.. i am trying to play some AVI files...

I read through some of the other threads and got BetaPlayer installed. But when I click on my file, it opens with HP Image Viewer.. How do I get my AVI files to be opened by the BetaPlayer?

I tried to find out any menu options within BetaPlayer... but in the screen, I had play, skip, stop and sound on the top... and in the bottom, i had the start menu and keyboard.. couldnt find anything useful..

any suggestions will be much appreciated..

Open Betaplayer, Tap File>Open and navigate to the file you want to view. It should open the file in Betaplayer. BTW - Welcome to the site!

thnx for the VERY fast reply.. but here's the problem.. i myself was expecting to see some kind of MENU when I open up the BetaPlayer.. but i see none.. i could be due to some stupid screen settings but I donno how to change it so that the menus are displayed..

for now this is all I see:
(replace the words with appropriate icons - i.e. PLAY = the triangle etc etc)

I installed the 0.96 Unstable version..

and from the Zip file, I installed the ARM_CE2 one on my HP RX3115.. is that the right version to begin with?... lol.. i am SOOOOO lost.. never been SOOO lost with a piece of electronics before:S:S:S

Noobs like you and me should never install purely beta test (potentially unstable) software. We don't know enough to do it right and troubleshooting ... HA! That goes right out the window with the Ipaq (at high velocity) when something goes wrong.

In any case, the version you SHOULD look for is the Stable.0.5 version. You shouldn't have any problems after installing that.

Note: You will WANT to uninstall the previous version you currently have loaded, probably might want to do a soft reset (run MemClean if you have it, after that reset). THEN try installing the Stable version.
