Capture Winamp or WMP streams???
I subscribe to the Bob and Tom show. Its a morning radio show out of Ill. Anyway i used to listen to it in Florida from a sydicated radio station. Now i live in Denver and can't get it. Because i subscribe to there site i can listen to live show archives. Its delived by winamp or windows media player. I was wondering if there was a way to capture this and transfer it to my Ax. Im not looking to make a bunch of copies of their show, share it on Kazaa or something. I just want to capture the previous day so i can listen to it around the house, and my wife can listen to it at school or on the way. Once the day is over and i have listened to it i will delete it. Anyone know if this is possible? I love the Bob and Tom show and wish i had a way to listen to it and not sit in front of the computer. I could, and will get a WiFi card. That will help me out, but my wife would still love to hear them on the way to school. Any suggestions? Thanks

Any program that will let you record sound on your PC should let you record it. I think this may depend on the quality of your sound card.
There is a great program called Cool Edit that I have used for a similar feature. In windows or the program you use to record you can choose your sound input...

I found some software to copy WMP steams. Its called Windows Media Recorder. Works well, just start the stream and hit record on this program. Saves the file in an asf format. Will have to figure out how to convert this to MP3. MP3 is the best format to save audio in isn't it? Best compression or something i though. Will have to figure it aout and find good software for this. New to this area of computers, but it's always fun to learn. If anyone has a good program that they can recommend for converting files let me know. Thanks

This is the website if anyone is interested.

http://streamripper.sourceforge.net/srdownloads.php This works great with winamp, it will even seperate each mp3 into a folder on most streams.

Is an ASF file a better format than an MP3? I tried converting the asf to MP3 and it ended up being a larger file. Im getting about 7 minutes per meg, with asf, which isnt bad I guess.
