PocketMVP stops, then starts again?

Okay, so I tried playing a couple files over the weekend and on both, every few minutes the Axim would lock up for about 30-60 seconds and then start playing again. I recently watched an entire movie with the same settings as one of these files and it locked up a couple times only at the end so I thought it was the file. Do I need to adjust pocktMVP settings? My files are well within the limits of what I've seen recommended here(15fps under 300kbps).

Thanks for any help!

In PocketMVP Options, disable caching. That should eliminate the occasional pausing.

Ahhhhh! Thanks, Talyn! I mistakenly thought by enlarging the cache maybe that'd help. I'm such a n00b.

Heh, we all thought the same thing. Turns out caching is a bad thing, go figure

I'm assuming that the 'pause' is caused when the video playback catches up with the end of the cache (maybe it can't play and read more of the file into the cache very well yet?) because it's not just a normal pause - frames are being dropped during the pause. But then again, I could be way off base - you know what they say about assuming...

Thanks Talyn. That appears to have fixed it. Maybe it's better to just have memory handling the file rather than have anything preloaded into the cache . . . who knows.

Another option that worked for me was to be sure and check Keep Alive.

I would watch a video and every 5 minutes or so it would pause for a few seconds. That keep alive fixed it.

disabling avi indexing helps speed up the wait when loading up an avi also.
