GS Player
Looks like GS Player (found here: http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/ ) has been updated at least as of Mar 2005. I didn't know until today that it could (with the help of a plugin) play MIDI files,...

I will load that snapin and see just how well it does. Thought I'd let you all know.

It doesn't have very many skins available for it, but it is skinnable. Anyone with graphics skills want to take on THAT challenge? GS Player seems to be pretty tight and stable, with features that rival that of much more expensive media players on the PPC platform.

There are a lack of skins for a GSPlayer which seems strange seeing as it is so good and free and skinnable. I am using the Winamp Modern skin found on the site whcih seems to be the best around.

Tried the MIDI plugin. Wasn't painless, but! After uninstalling my custom location of GS Player (yes, I actually figured out how to modify the registry to actually put things where I wanted them! Pain in the Farkin' rear!) ...

If you install GS Player and all of the other stuff to the DEFAULT location (meaning ... /handheld/program files/ ...) then you'll work just fine with these packages.

Now. That all being said. Others may have better luck getting it all to run with a "custom" location (ie: Ipaq File Store). But I didn't. Then again, I was TRULY running a custom load configuration. /laugh/ So it's more or less my own fault.

YMMV. Best of luck!

Looked for the winamp skin for GS Player. Couldn't find it. Just the GREEN and the SILVER skins.

Could you drop a link to the other ones you're talking about Ricouk? Thanks in advance.

I agree, there should be more skins made for GSplayer. How do you go about doing though?

Myself, I haven't the first clue.

Last time I wanted a skin made, I created the endlook in MS Paint, and convinced/paid someone who had done others on that platform. The end result was simply brilliant, and apparently my design was well liked. /grin/

It was one of the LCARS skins for Pocket Tunes on the Palm OS.

I'm thinking I may have to do that again, ... which at the moment isn't feasable as I'm putting my money into other things that have a higher priority. /sigh/
