Howdy,
New PPC owner here as of < 24 hours. I am trying to play an mpeg on my PPC running WM2002. When I use ActiveSync and put it on my handheld, the mpeg extension appears to be lost and it has that "i dont know what sort of program" icon in the file explorer on the pocket pc. So I named the same file three ways: .mpg, .mpeg, and .wmv. Wouldn't you know it that .wmv was the only one it knew was associated with media player. Anyhow it still couldn't play the file and it was just a regular mpeg as far as I could tell? Any trick to this??? thanks.

Windows Media Player will only play videos in the .wmv format.

To play MPEG you'll need a something like PocketTV or PocketMVP. PocketMVP will also play AVI and OGM movies, as well as MP3 and OGG audio.
Don't try copying a full desktop-sized video over to your device, though - they're just not meant for that. That's why you'll see several threads about video encoding...
