Windows Media Player Fullscreen

Ok,
I have made many movies to play on my axim with the "Video for color pda device" template in Windows Movie Maker, but when I put them on my axim and go into fullscreen mode, the video is just in the middle of the screen. Is there any way to stretch the video?
Thanks

There are 3 Pocket PC Profiles in Windows Movie Maker 2:

Video for Pocket PC (218 kbps)
Video for Pocket PC (143 kbps)
Video for Pocket PC (Fullscreen 218 kbps)

Take a wild guess which one you need to select to get fullscreen? :)

Be advised that, at least on Pocket PC 2002, the fullscreen encode is choppy compared to it's profile counterpart. If you have a WM2003 device, you will probably get much better performance with fullscreen.

Well, I have the regular Windows Movie Maker (Windows Me) and I only have the first two options. Is there any way to stretch the image in the media player?

No, but you could try using Windows Media Encoder (I think you'll need version 7.x if you're using WinME???) where you can create better profiles than Movie Maker comes with.

Yea, You'll have to get XP to download Movie Maker 2 - Get XP ... I had ME and it kept crashing and crashing and crashing and crashing and crashing and crashing ..... Well you get the idea.

But I've done videos in both 1.1 and 2.0 and I've felt that 2.0 is a much better interface ...

No offense or anything, but Xp? NO WAY! Most of my devices have xp drivers, but they dont work. Tons of my games won't work, and the blue/green interface is ugly! My friend and two of my cousins have xp, and we all hate it.

I used windows media encoder and created a fullscreen profile that looks really nice and plays fairly smooth on my 300mhz model, but it is 90mb for only 50mins on video. I am going to keep trying.

gcguy28 - You are using a trash OS. Your statment may have been true 24 months ago. Windows ME is posibly the worst operating system by Microsoft if you dont want to use XP use 2000 or even 98se is a better choice. If you are using something with ME that is not compatible at all with XP maybe you should consider upgrading, because your device was made 20 years ago. I wont even comment on your idea that it has a funny looking interface as it is totally customizable and can be made to look exactly like Windows ME. Anyway get windows media encoder and there are 2 pocketpc profiles for encoding there one is normal one is widescreen the widescreen option will give you full screen movies when encoded. It is availible free on the microsoft website. Has alot more options then windows movie maker, even allows for on the fly encoding and broadcasting of live video over a network.

ME is horrible, talk about crashing....switch to 2000 or xp and change the theme if you don't like the looks. What things do you have that won't run on xp? By now most popular programs/hardware have either new drivers or a patch to help with xp.

I erased this post because it just made the xp debate worse. If the admin is out there, delete this post! (Not Topic)

all-in-all microsoft stinks! END OF DISCUSSION
Ok then why do you have a PC and a Pocket PC? Why not go Mac and Palm since you hate Microsoft so much? I've had very few problems with Windows XP, it's been the most stable and compatible OS I've ever used. Anyway back to being on topic I didn't even know you could make any of the videos totally fullscreen with WMP.

all digital cameras I've tried so far do not require any software to interface with XP, just plug them in and you camera is mapped as a removable drive.

When XP first came out, there were problems with many games, mostly due to ATi and nvidia's XP driver performance when compared against 98(se). Now, both nvidia and ATi have excellent driver sets available for XP and performance is just as good as in 98.

Yeah, the default theme for XP ain't that great. I personally set it to the default win2k kinda look and turn off all the extra options like fading menus and such. XP is the most stable o/s (besides NT and of course 2k) that microsoft has released. it's also a helluva lot more compatible with external devices than any of their other o/s's were.

regarding WMP, maybe i'll give movie maker 2 a try to see how it does, in playing around with divx, I never got a good encode at full 320x240 res without having syncing issues with the audio and video (though at all other resolutions divx plays no problem)

OK! BACK ON TOPIC!

Here is a profile that I made for all of us ME, 98, and SE 'ers. It goes in "c:/Program Files/windows media components/encoder/profiles" (After you installed windows media encoder) .
I am still trying to get the best picture quality at the least Mb's.

Hopefully, I attatched it correctly.....
