TCPMP advice
Hi,
I am already running Pocket TV video player successfully, but now I want to try running TCPMP on my PDA, I found the download page at http://corecodec.org/frs/?group_id=5...se_id=224#r224 I presume I need to download each of the following: CPMP for Windows Mobile Monitor this package 0.71 2005-11-23 11:32 tcpmp.arm.cabs.0.71.zip 2720761 56,926 Other Other tcpmp.mips.cabs.0.71.zip 1523035 5,967 Other Other tcpmp.setup.0.71.exe 1603584 77,934 Other Other tcpmp.sh3.cabs.0.71.zip 1335822 4,816 Other Other tcpmp.smartphone.0.71.exe 782336 17,902 Other Other But I cannot see any installation instructions, what do I do with all these files to install the application it on my PDA. Once done, I want to transfer some music videos off DVD on to my PDA (with 2GB memory card). So recommendations as to best software for ripping individual tracks or "chapters" off a DVD as opposed to a whole DVD in to a format that TCMPM will play - would be much appreciated. Thanks Guy

You should only need this one 'tcpmp.arm.cabs.0.71.zip' as long as you have a new or current PPC.
The other thing I had to download was the ac3 plugin to allow TCPMP to play AVI files. You just put that file in your TCPMP directory and it just works. Oh, just unzip the .cab file andmove it to your PPC and click it and it will install. As to your ripping of DVDs. Do you mean you have mp3's on DVDs or you need to rip CDs? If you are trying RIP a CD, Windows Media player or most other media players will do that. And if you have a 2 gig SD card than you dont need to compress the files. You can then just use a card reader or navigate to the storage card and drag the music into a folder. If you want to rip a DVD I would recomend DVDShrink and then compress it with... hmmm i forgot the name of the software to compress it. Its free though....

Thanks for the help,
regarding ripping, what I want to do is to rip extracts (such as individual chapters) off a DVD, generally music DVDs. I want to be able to rip the pictures to a resolution suitable for replay on the PPC, with embedded stereo audio ripped at good quality. The downloaded videos for PPC/handheld that I have purchased seem to have the audio coded at 40Kbs, 32 Khz, using the WMA 9.1 codec. anyway at that rate (40kbs) they sound crap. When I rip CDs I choose the audio resolution according to what I need to achieve, space/quality. I would like the same controls when ripping my own DVDs for replay on the PPC. Regards Guy
