Mad pocket mvp.. pause every couple mins..

yea so i'm watching the movie and its encoded at 11.988fps. and the audio stream is 22050hz stereo. Anyway it will pause every 4 or 5 mins for like 2-3 seconds and startup again. it really pissed me off.. :rolling: this was more during the end of the movie.. is it a flaw in the encoding process or PMVP itself?

Try turning off the cache completely.. It seems to be that the playback catches up to what is loaded into the cache, and then the vid stops while the cache is reloaded.

Setting it to no cache will cause PMVP to play directly from the stored file in memory and should cure this problem, although you carry a higher risk of dropped frames. At 12 fps this shouldn't be an issue.

even at 25fps you'll play just fine with no cache.. this is with a 240 width in portrait view. I play almost every frame (over 99.9% of the frames) using 240 width with 22khz 56kbit stereo mp3 and 220kbit divx 5 2 pass video on a 300mhz axim.

it'll show the dropped frames when you stop the video or when it finishes playing. it'll pop up a window showing the info .. i.e. dropped frames and total frames. you should get well over 99% of your frames played if you've encoded the video in something that isn't full screen (e.g. 240x160), and even in landscape mode (320 width with the video rottated) you should get very little dropped frames. of course this depends on the quality of the video. if you go over 300kbit you'll prolly start to see more dropped frames.
