Hi i have used a axim x30i for some time untill i got my smartphone Qtek 8500 wich now takes care of my appointments etc and the axim has ended up with collecting dust,,, but i still like my axim, and its nice for watching movies and my ebooks:love: And would like to use it more.

So what i wondered what programs is avail for just using it as a media machine:-D (hey got to use it for something).

Movie databases? ala imdb just for local,
DVD database (in the lines of dvd profiler just for PPC)
other nifty stuff? Bring on the suggestions and ill work on it:-D

Any nice clean movie\media oriented themes which would suit such plans for my axim:-D

Get tcpmp on your device to play media.
Also, make sure you have a big cf or sd card, b/c the built in memory on the axims is limited.

You can also play games, surf the net or use bluetooth devices, if the x30i has both wifi and bt?

Try archive.org for legally free movies, although most are oldies.

Is it actually possible to use it as a remote control? I knew a few mobile phnes can be used. How about the axim?

remote control possible, but it all depends on your IR part. Some doesn't get the range.
x51 for example works ok (~10 ft).
