Ipods (inno) vs TCMP on an Ax (or a 4705)

Does anyone here have both an ipod and a pda? How would you compare the listening/viewing expierence of music/ movies on the 2?
I am debating getting a 8 G Cf card for media or getting an ipod.
I know the screen is bigger on the 4705, so they dont match in terms of that.
I also have an inno so I have some music on there but I am planning on expanding my musical inventory. Any thoughts?

Hmm.. for music i would not go with a pda, due to the battery life. for example, my x51v gets about 3hrs. on a full charge. Id hate to waste battery power listening to music on a trip, then realize that i dont have a car charger, & we dont stop for the next 3 hours.

However, id recommend videos are WAY better on an axim (especially the x50v/x51v, their VGA screens bring them to nearly hi-def quality). I have an iriver clix, i dont mind watching small video clips or music videos, but i dont think i could stand watching a 2-hour video on it.

ipod vs pda?
Wel there are a few things to consider:

1. like my poster above said battery power, an ipod can have better battery life. (however, with a good configurated pda you can get more than 3 hours of playback, im getting about 10 hours on my standard dell 1100mah battery pack)
also, you cant replace an ipods battery....(and if you look around pda batterys arent really that expensive)

2. functionality, I think the ipods interface is shit, i have 600 songs on my nano and sometimes it can get really frustating browsing your files (this is my opinion.... you might like it....).
anyways for the pocketpc are a whole lot of mp3 players available... and they are customizable anyway you like.
Also the ipod can just play music (and the ipod video ofcorse video but.... very crappy imo) while with a average pocketpc model you can get more functionality thanyour brain can handle (internet, very good organizer cool games etc etc)

3. size... altough the ipod video is about the same size of smaller ppc's, you can still say that the ipod beats ppcs on this one (i have a nano for when i train, and my axim for everything else...)

4. price... a pocketpc with 20 gb > ipod in price

5. for the sound quality.... wel, i think my ax + iplay has better sound than my ipod nano...... but hey.. you really gotta test that yourself cuz everyone likes something else...

hmm now im too tired too write anything else :P hope this helps ya a bit
grtz

it does, at first i was leaning towards getting an ipod. My delima was this. I carry my MDA all the time. I need my 4700 but I havent found a case for it that suits me. But I am looking. I am starting to carry my inno all the time because i listen to it at work and I listen to it while trailing wife as she does whatever. I am thinking of ditching the inno most of the time and loading music into the 4700 and carrying it. Because it has more functionality. I dont mind getting a bigger battery for it. My only real concern was will I spend bucks on a memory card and then get crappy sound.

Forget the Ipod

I am listening to XM streaming on my ipaq and I can now say... I dont really care what music would sound like on an ipod or other PMP.

Now I just need to make my ipaq act like my inno... for off line listening. Can Resco Audio recorder accomplish this?

I use my Axim X50v for audio when I drive back and forth to work and the sound quality is excellent - earlier posts suggest the sound processor is the same as an ipod.

only 'issue' is that it's too big to carry around e.g. walking / jogging.

Regarding battery life, I have an A12 X51v and with TCMP, I can easily get 5-6 hours play time on a standard battery. That's with the LCD turned off of course.
