Works on Window Media

Right now it works on Windows Media Player but there is no Windows player for the Axim that I know of.. When I try on TCP it says MPEG2 not supported. Some earlier messages seem to imply there was no player but I find that hard to believe..........

Sorry

What I meant is that MPEG2 plays on the WMP on my desktop. MPEG2 does not play on WMP on the Axim. If I have to convert to MPEG1 or 4 can anyone suggest a relatively simple program. Thanks again........

Thanks for the assistance It looks like it doesn't do MPEG2 but I'll give it a go just in case. How do I vote for you?

tcpmp and sompy player are the only free multiformat video players that I can think of. You can buy core player but I think its $30.

Just click on the thing that says "vote for me", and that will bring you to the thread were you can vote for the entry you want to(mine is entry 1). I doubt I'll win but every vote helps

The only way to play MPEG2 is to use TCPMP with ffmpeg.plugin.0.72RC1.zip

You can find it here...
TCPMP

It works... But still can't do the job. It's really slow...

The 2700G chipset claims to support the Hardware Acceleration of Mpeg2 decoding algorithms but developers seems not to be interested in...
The fact is that Mpeg2 Encoding needs to have a higher bitrate than other codecs
like mpeg4 or H.264, so it would be a waste of space and cpu power to view a mpeg2 encoded movie on a PocketPC.
