For a while there was no good way to access youtube on your ppc. Then the iphone came out, and everybody wanted that on their ppc. So, know there is many ways to access youtube, mostly through tcpmp.
What i am about to show you is an all-in-one freeware app that u can search for, and play videos in from youtube, etc. The bad news is, its only for wm5+, so i cant review it.
This is an all-in-one software meaning you can search for clips and play them in that same software. It is probably playing the flv files in a way tcpmp does. It should work since u have the x51.
Someday im gonna have to upgrade to wm5 even if it is slow and buggy, just to get my hands on some modern software.

Has anyone actually gotten this program to work? It keeps crashing on my WM5 X50v every time I open a video. I think I'll just stick with TCPMP and the flash plugin...
I can't download it. The software is free, but downloadable by SMS only. I'm not from US, don't use any of the listed carriers, there's a way to download it as a cab file to my x51v?

Just click on the bottom link for Pocket PC and leave the SMS fields alone. The cab file should download. I'll test it out and report back.
The issues I have with the TCPMP method is that it changes my buffering settings in TCPMP. After watching a Youtube video--normal video playback became choppy. I always have to manually reset my settings.
Thanks for the tip!
A similar company at vTap has a Youtube plus ALL internet video solution also---but this site requires a SMS ONLY method. :)
UPDATE: The app crashes my x51v after tapping on a video to view. The player says "buffering..." then exists. (This was done through dial-up networking connection though)

Yep, that's what I get too on my WM5 X50v. Oh well. The sticky buffering settings in TCPMP doesn't bother me as much because I have CorePlayer and MortPlayer for my main multimedia need. TCPMP is only there for YouTube :).

Not sure if you know but vTap is a joke.. they've stolen the source code from TCPMP. So infact when you run vTap - its nothing but TCPMP ;) vTap just released their source code - its hillarious...
