you will need to use a service like KeepVid: Download videos from Google, Youtube, iFilm, Putfile, Metacafe, DailyMotion! to download the .flv files youtube uses. You should be able to play these with little difficulty. If you cannot play them, download the "Highdef" .Mp4 version of the file from the same site, and then everything should be all right.

I have installed your codec pak (the exe version) to my 50v, but I still cannot play wmv files in TCPMP. I get the error audio & video codec not supported by the player. Do I have to do something else to get them to play?

Thanks.

There will be some files that still will not be supported by the player, no matter how many codecs are installed, you may have some of these files. As a general rule, most .wmv files will play, but there are some that have been encoded using codecs that simply don't exist for TCPMP. If this is the case, your best bet is to convert the unplayable files into a format TCPMP can use. There are several free video converters around that you can use to do this.

Hello everyone. I have a problem with my TCMP. I have a SPV C600 (HTC TORNADO) with windows mobile 6. Every program works fine but i cannot make the damn subtitle plugin work. I know that I need a srt ssa ass unicode or another few type of files with the same name of the movie. Then I open the settings and go to subtitles and...nothing. I cannot load them whatever I do. I am mainly playing avi files wich are are transformed using Media Coder SE. I suppose hard coded subs are out of the question. Does anyone have any ideea? I use 0.81 version. Should I try 0.72RC1?

The error message I get refers to wmv9. Is this codec not supported?

Thanks.

Yes, you should, I cannot speak to the reliability of the 0.81 version, but I know that 0.72RC1 is aboveboard, and has given me no problems whatsoever. If you are still having playback issues, try converting your files to another format, using SUPER, or another video conversion program.

I do not think WMV9 is supported by any versions of TCPMP, try converting the file to an .AVI, using SUPER, or another video converter.

I have managed with the 0.81 version. I downloaded the alpha 3 version of the subtitles plugin and put it in the 0.81 version. And it work! Not all functions work, but I can load subtitles, bold them, change font, position, size. It's better then nothing anyway. Have another question. Let's say I have an Avi or MKV file with hard coded subs. You know the kind. If I open in Windows the movie with KMPLAYER for example they automatically load because they are in the movie, but you can still change between them(you go to subtitle stream and choose). Also you can change their size, amazing thing. I really would like to know how do they encode those. Well I was wondering if TCMP has that kind of function. Because you can choose in the Video/Audio section the stream, so i was wondering if we can choose the subtitle as well. I can see them on the screen in my TCMP , but they I see them small. All I need is the TCMP to let me change their size so I can see them well.

Those subtitles aren't "hard coded". What people mean by "hard coded" is that in the encoding process the subtitles are added as part of the picture. They can't be turned off. What you are talking about is subtitles that are muxed into the container. So for example you encode a video, the audio and the subtitles. Then you take all of these separate streams and put them together into a container, .MKV for example. Then upon playback either the video splitter (which breaks up the various streams form the container) or the player allows you to select which of the streams present you want to play. the movie isn't a stream. It is a container which is comprised of one or (usually) more streams. I appreciate your desire for such functionality in TCPMP. Every movie I encode has multiple audio tracks and subtitles if they were present on the DVD.

I mainly make custom DVD's with romanian subtitle on a tracker when I have spare time, so I kinda understood what you are saying. But I have only added 2 subtitles into an avi movie my entire life using VirtualDub and the subtitler plugin. So that why I was very curios.I also have to demux and mux the video/audio/subtitle streams. And I would really too see this in TCMP if any hard working programmers out there can do this. Just another thought. Why does not TCMP recognize italic? I mean you can choose too bold them but italic isn't even as a feature there. Is it realy hard to add that and maybe make the program recognize <b> and <i> strings? I am very demanding )

P.S: I have found out that a reasonable solution for me is to decode the movies that have subtitles streams in it and convert them into a type of file that TCMP will recognize as a subtitle.

I have a problem, I installed all the codecs here but .flv files won't fully play. It's either I can get sound and no video or the player say's "Player: Video codec () not supported by the player!", any suggestions?

For all the codecs available for TCPMP, there are still some file types that it cannot play. In these instances, it is best to convert the files to another format, using SUPER, or another video file converter.

UPDATE: I noticed after I updated to WM6 that I was unable to play certain WMV and WMA files, and I discovered that WM6 has codecs TCPMP does not recognize, so I located the proper codecs needed, and have added them to my Master Codec Pack. Here are the flavors of the WM6 variant below:

TCPMP Master Codec Pack 2 (WM6) PC Installer: TCPMP Master Codec Pack 2 (WM6).exe

TCPMP Master Codec Pack 2 (WM6) CAB Installer: TCPMP Master Codec Pack 2 (WM6).CAB

WMA-WMV Codecs (Standalone ZIP Package with Installation Instructions) : WMA-WMV9 Codec.zip

Hello there!

I'd like to try this codec pack, but it says "you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:"... Why is that? I'd like to try it on my TyTN II WM6, cause I can't get TCPMP to work with FLV file, even with the "official" FLV plugin for TCPMP. I got only Audio and no Video.

Thanks for everything!

Miguel
