MusicPlayer - Last position help

I'm trying out Musicplayer for the 'continue from last position on start' feature however I cant figure out how to get it to work. I've tried pausing before closing and just closing but everytime I restart it starts at the begining of the track. I listen to audio books and would really like this feature. I've used Mort player for a while but the lack of a 'resume' feature makes it a hassle.

Any suggestions?

Um, MortPlayer does have a resume feature, you just have to enable it in the settings (or with the wizard).
In the current beta, if you define an audio book folder in your Favorites, you can even save the current position for each track or (sub)folder, and the position is saved regulary, so it's restored even if the device crashed.

Thanks for the reply- I'll check out the beta version. Are there any plans to make adding folders/files/Favorites easier? its very confusing (at least to me)

You could always use TCPMP instead, that automatically starts from the last position, Perfect for Audio books.

Yes, there's a first go available here.
It strippes favorites handling down to the most common case: One directory (and its subfolders) for music, and maybe another one for audio books. (For advanced users, the old dialog is still available)

Once the favorites are set, handling is a lot easier than it is to explain. I mean, there are prev/next folder buttons and folder selection on most MP3 car stereos, too, and usually you use them intuitively while the instructions looks terribly complicated...
With MortPlayer, the biggest problem in that regard is that people aren't used to the concept of an audio player with playlists that changes its playlist automatically to another folder (or playlist file) during playback. That's why the "changer mode" is optional.

Thanks - I downloaded it, however cant check it out yet as I broke my screen ( dont carry it in a Target bag when the bottom rips out) - I found a cheap used unit with a good screen but other problems so hopefully that will arrive soon and I'll get mine repaired. In the mean time, another suggestion,(I hope you dont mind) on the programable 'backround' button is it possible to make it toggle backround/foreground? I like to use Mort and my GPS at the same time and right now I use 1 button for each to switch back and forth with a toggle foreground/background it would be easier - if not no big deal, I'll stick with 2 buttons

Hm, afair, there's already a "Minimize" assignment, which is quite useless if the player's in background. It should be possible to let it restore the player in that case.

Done

(b64 preview is now available as installer, if no problems occur, it'll soon no longer be a "preview")

For all others interested in MortPlayer (I guess Phantomodopera already found it in my forum): 3.31b65 is out. It offers a simplyfied favorites configuration, some small new features (like predefining the upcoming track), and it seems like almost all known bugs are finally fixed (exception: some devices still seem to cause trouble with call pause).
I'd recommend it over all older versions, including "stable" 3.3 and RC7, it's just no new RC because I plan to add some more features before. (E.g. tag data in playlist, and maybe a "include subfolders data to single playlist" option for Favorites)
