What I'd like - and what is now, supposedly, possible in the newly released Coreplayer 1.2 - is to click on a video in http://m.youtube.com and have it open automatically in TCPMP.
Is there any way I can do this?
Thanks in advance...!
Do a search for "Mobytube", there are several threads here that talk about how to view videos. I've been using Mobytube with TCPMP for a few months with fairly good success. Some files won't play, but I haven't expended any effort trying to figure out why not. Most will.
Since TCPMP should be able to handle streaming media it should be possible to change the mime type list for the browser to make .flv files open with TCPMP.
Since I do not know what plugins you've got installed I can't help you more than that.
I do, however, recall that there is a TCPMP plugin for browsers (dunno if it's only for pocket IE).
If you need more assistance (unless you find an easier solution for your problem) PM me where you got the FLV plugin and I'll try to make it work.
Mobytube will stream. First off, use pie, thats what i use.
Then tap the thumbnail for each video, it will open in tcpmp and stream.
Thanks, Mobytube does stream with TCPMP, even with Opera.
But that leaves me to wonder for who, or what device, does m.youtube.com work? The first time I visited regular Youtube on my axim it redirected me to m.youtube.com, like that's supposed to be the universal mobile version of Youtube. But it didn't work at all for me and, apparently, doesn't work for a lot of other people also. What sort of device does m.youtube work for - (iPhone?)?
Holy crap, I just found the ultimate solution, which I hope others who don't know about can enjoy. FlashVideoBundle - grab it from this guy's app folder - it's the latest version. I had downloaded another version from another site but it was older and gave me errors.
Go here: Index of /apps
Just install the cab file wherever you have TCPMP installed (either sd or cf card, or device)and do a soft-reset afterwards.
Then using PIE (unfortunately) go to youtube.com and tap on a video, you'll get choices to either 'Play Video' or 'Save Video' or 'Linked Page' . Select Play Video and TCPMP will stream automatically, and beautifully, I should add.
My pleasure...I've been reading about all these other alternatives, also for weeks. Mostly saving the videos from one kind of mirror site or another, then opening them separately, making the whole experience a chore, especially if you're in transit.
Who knew the real solution would be so hard to find, yet so simple once executed...?! Spread the word:)
I also have the flash plug-in, specifically for TCPMP, as well as Adobe's flash mobile plugin. If you want I can e-mail you what I have and see if it works for you...
ALSO: Don't go to m.youtube.com like what automatically happens if you try the regular youtube site and, once it detects your mobile device, redirects you.
Remember to scroll down and click on View Desktop Version. Then that takes you to the regular youtube site and there, using PIE, will you be able to stream video with TCPMP. Give it a go....
CorePlayer Mobile 1.2.1 with RTSP and h.264 support has been released.... and tested. Works well with m.youtube.com, in my experience.
Yeah, but Coreplayer isn't free, TCPMP is...Coreplayer has no flash support and probably never will, but a plugin is available for TCPMP...Coreplayer still has no scrolling titles (which annoys me to no end) but TCPMP has very basic yet functional scrolling titles which do not interfere with playback in the least. And being able to browse m.youtube isn't as good as just being able to go to regular youtube.com and watch vids there...
TCPMP is still the one to beat, imo...
