Hopefully the major studio's will soon learn that they could make major gains in sales by offering movies as downloadable files, instead of just tape/DVD formats. It's working great for legal music downloads for Apple iTunes and now Virgin Records in the UK.

We all know it's gonna happen sooner or later, I don't know why they would bother fighting it. Same with those a-holes in RIAA.

Well, I think the biggest problem with that idea right now is still bandwidth issues. Even though a lot of people have broadband connections nowadays, it still takes a good while to download a full-length movie (of any decent quality). The provider would have to have a massive amount of servers and bandwidth in order to serve huge-filesize movies to thousands (or more) users at the same time for hours at a time, at broadband speeds.

I think it will happen in the future, but it will be a while away still. Bandwidth will improve though, and when it does, I'm sure some intuitive companies will take notice.

This isn't entirely true deftech, there are alot of websites out there that specialize in downloading movies that are not copyrighted...Public Domain material.

Nothing on ppcvidz.com is illegal to download, every file available for download has been checked for copyright info. There are others out there, just do a search for public domain videos. Or visit us since we already have the videos formatted for PPC.
