New version of PocketMusic is much better
I was never a fan of WMP for audiobooks - no way to bookmark your place in a 10-12 hour book. Bought PocketMusic 4.3.3 in 2006 after reading about its bookmark function on this forum. However neither the bookmark function nor the pause function worked reliably in either version 4.3.3 or 4.3.4 - since it was originally written for Windows Mobile 2003, I think it was having compatibility issues with Windows Mobile 5.0 on the Axim.
However, there is a new version of PocketMusic which works very well. PocketMusic 5.0 was released in early winter, and works great with my Axim. The bookmark function works flawlessly now, and the pause button works better (altho the pause function remains a little quirky if the Axim powers down while in pause). Nevertheless, if you were disappointed with PM 4.3.3 or 4.3.4 - you should look at PM 5.0
Several websites sell it - it isn't a free upgrade from 4.3.4 :( but if you are a registered user of a previous version, there has been a discount available. I sent an email to the developers at PocketMind about upgrading, and they emailed me a discount code to use at Handango for the new version. I paid $4.95 for the new version in January and couldn't be happier. If you like audiobooks, you should look at this. It reads DRM protected WMA and also has an optional plugin for AAC (extra charge) - main bundle supports MP3, WMA, OGG, etc.
