Absolutely! It's my favorite feature about my Axim (300)..in fact, here's a post I had put on another forum that may help ya....good luck!:

I know all the converting and everything will seem like a pain, but it's worth it to watch movies on your Axim. In fact, I have the 300Mhz and I watch full DVD movies without a hitch or sputter. The other night I velcroed my Axim sideways to my steering wheel, plugged in headphones and watched Monsters, Inc. (DVD-rip) in its entirety during my 3½ hour drive. But here's the best guide to use:

PocketMatrix DivX Conversion for Pocket PC

Like I said, it's a pain, but it works. Good quality video ends up running you around 150MB for a 90-minute movie, which isn't bad. Try some of your clips using this and post back with your results...hope this helps!

-Laz

PS I'm making CD archives of my converted Pocket PC movies so I can have a library to choose from when going on trips...this is the thing I love the most about my Axim!

That's safe! Where do you live so I can stay off the roads?!?!

Not a very good idea if you were driving! <_<

fade2black: I live in NC, so hopefully you're safe! Seriously though, I was a safe driver, but my eyes were sore from looking back and forth between the road and the steering wheel.

only the axim: That Monsters, Inc. DVD rip ended up being about 152 MB. I have a 192MB CF card that I put it on, but I just bought a 256MB CF card so I can hold a movie up to 2½ hours.

And which program are you having a hard time with, the VirtualDub program it talks about at the link posted above? It's not a very user-friendly program, but if you follow the directions on that page it works like a charm. I hadn't used that program before either, but I've used it so much now that I have those directions memorized. But I'll try and answer any specific questions you may have.

Oh, and here are some test files if you wanna see some video in action on your Axim. Just go here and download and install this latest version of PocketDivX: PocketDivX for Pocket PC.

Now go here and download this Daredevil Trailer. It's not even that great of quality, since it was converted from Quicktime first. But install both of these and see how the file runs....nto bad! Post back here with your results if any....hope this helps!

Oh....and Happy (Almost) New Year everyone!

-Laz

I bought a tape adapter from Best Buy and plug it into the headphone jack on the Axim while watching movies in the car. It's like having surround sound in your car because the movie sound runs through your car speakers.

Laz:
I completed all the steps in converting the movie. When I attempt to play it with the Windows Media Player (on my PC), there is no video. The player window changes to the correct format, and the audio plays. Any suggestions??

only the axim - You shouldn't use windows media player to load divx movies, it will not recognize the codec. Get Pocket MVP, it is the best around.

I came across Laz's "how to" on the pocketmatrix, even before I found this site, and kind of went crazy. I have created "pocket movies" from DVD's just to see how they work on the Axim. I only have a 128MB and a 64MB flash so I had to cut the avi and split it between two CF cards. His how to isn't for the "I want it quick and easy", but once you do it a couple of times you get the hang of it.

My Axim (400MHz) plays them rather well and I think it is a great idea for trips, my kids will love watching the Veggie tales on Daddy's toy.

If people haven't tried out www.pocketmatrix.com you should. Its great. Now the first time you see the instructions they are long but if you take it step by step and do it a few times it works like a charm everytime.
I've been converting and downloading half shows to start trying to find the size that works for me that doesn't dilute the picture too much.
Its just too cool. I have a SD 256 card plus a CF 128 card got both on sale. I experimented with size from 90-up to 127mb. So I can can at least two half hour shows on the SD card and one on the CF card. Who was do know that maybe I should've gotten that 512 card. Man is this a cool toy or what. So it looks like I would build a card collection so I can switch.
Did I mention I just love this thing.

The first time I tried to use it I thought something was missing. All I saw was an empty grey window, that wasn't skinned anything like the pictures on the site. Following the directions there meticulously, it did work though.
