I'm completely and honestly a newbie to the axim, so i appologize.

I have heard that wmp9.0 has problems converting mp3 files to wma and playing on the axim. First, is this the case? And second how can it be remedied?

I want to convert all my mp3's for space reasons.... so what is the best player to use once convereted (that is unless mp3's can be made smaller). Thinking of downloading withMP3, but does that play wma? thanks for the future posts to all these annoying questions! :)

There's a program called DbPowerAmp Convertor, that will cut your mp3 file sizes down (with some loss in quality of course). I've been able to chop my file sizes almost in half with acceptable quality...http://www.dbpoweramp.com It also will convert to other formats too

I converted all my mp3 to wma with wmp9 and had no problems. Depending on the original file bitrate, you can get compression down to 20% of original.

hey MikeC how do you use windows media player 9 to convert your MP3's to WMV? I used some third party program that i converted all my mp3s to wma i belive 32 bit or 68 bit i forget. I got around 500 megs of mprs down to 175 or so. But if WMP9 can do it i would rater use that as its free :) and others are shareware!!! thanxs
