Music dowloaded from Walmart to Axim X51 woes

Transferring music from Walmart.com to my PC and then to my Axim51 works fine if I save the to the main memory of my Axim. If however, I transfer to the music to the Axim's SD card, I get errors. The files seem to download Ok but WM player will not play them. Other music works just fine from the SD card.

Is there some kind of copyright protection that keeps from using the SD card and if so, is there some legal work arounds for this?

Answer No: Files work on ppc

Sync your ppc to your pc find the wma file that you downloaded from walmart. Open up exllore from active sync and you should see a music file box. Find the wma file that you downloaded in your music file (start, my music) drag that file to your ppc music file or sd card or wherever you want the file.

I think thats what I did.

If I download this particular music from Walmart to the Axim's main memory Music folder the music will play. If I download it to a SD Card, it does not play.

I have not downloaded a lot of music from Walmart and this could be some issue with this album. The one other album I downloaded from Walmart stored on the SD card works fine as does music from other sources.

I think you need to sync all DRMed music (like that from Walmart) directly to the place on the pocket pc where you want it to be. I don't think you can download it to your pocket pc and then move it to the SD card. I'd try syncing the music directly to the SD card and see if that makes a difference.

the copyright isn't the problem. just remember to update your library when you add the item. It will say copying files and your library will be updated with sd files.

Last resort:
Burn the music on a CD and rip it. That will get rid of all DRMs. Then sync it via Windows Media Player.
