Anyone have any tips encoding with DiVX 5.02 and 5.03? I seem to get smaller file sizes with DiVX 5, I got a 2 hour movie (320x240 25 FPS) down to 178MB using 5.02 and 134MB using 5.03. (a bit better then the 4.12 sizes) The only thing I need to work on now is quality, any ideas? What filters should I use? I've read the pocketmatrix guide, its good but its getting a little dated.

From my reading here, I'd say =you= should be giving directions rather than asking for them! <g>

Those results are very good for a 2 hour movie. For further reading:

Nicky's Digital Guides

Also, I find the PocketMVP help file interesting reading.

What video bitrate did you use?
You must have used 200kbit or less, if you filesize is that low for 2-hour movie.
And at 320x240, isn't it abit pixelated?
I would bring the resolution down to 320x176 to improve quality.

Which Axim do you have, does it drop frames at 25fps?

I used 128K. Tried 200K, but it made the file too big to fit on my card. It was 320x240 because the source was 4:3, 320x176 would squish the picture. It did drop quite a few frames, I guess 15 FPS is the best a 300MHz Axim can do. I wouldn't expect much more from a PPC, at least until the next gen or the XScale optimizations come out.
