I want to control Win Media Player on my desktop , over a wifi network from the axim, for free any tips on software for the axim to control win media player(i have searched the forums and cant find any help)

    

VNC. Pig slow but it would work. Or if your desktop is the right version of XP there is the terminal server piece.

Did you want to use your Axim as a remote control? If so, VNC would work. But if you wanted to actually listen to it on your Axim, I don't think you could...

I was thinking of also "sharing" Windows Media Player. I got as far as being able to view it using Resco Explorer, but tapping on it would not run it.

Gigi> The idea is that you feed audio from Windows Media Player to Windows Media Encoder and then from Windows Media Encoder stream it to the PPC. The problem is that on the PPC you cannot control the stream source (WMP on the PC) so something like VNC would let you control that.



I think that's the issue that Grentz is trying to overcome.
