I get the following message when trying to play a WMA file on my Axim:

"The license for this file cannot be found. Use Windows Media Player on your PC to copy the file to your device again."

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong. I am running Windows 98SE and using Media Player 7.01.

You'll need to pop the cd back in and re-rip the files. when you did it
before i bet you forgot to uncheck "protect music".


In the desktop player, go to tools > options, and click the "copy music"
tab. in there uncheck "protect content". you may need to re-rip the music.

[edit]Tried it on mine (WMP9 on XP) and I didn't have to re-rip the music. Turning off the "protect content" did the trick. Good Luck![/edit]

I don't have that check box on my version (7.01), but I did check a box that said "Use error correction" on the CD Audio Tab, but it still gave me an error when copying directly to my PPC. I don't have any other ideas.

Well maybe that is not the correct place in WMP 7, but the error is the same others have gotten. Might try and upgrade your media player.
