Corrupted movie files
I use fribizio's guide to encode movies for my ax. What I have noticed is that some encoded movies get corrupted. I will encode the movie and save on my hard drive, copy to a cf card and then when I go back the movie will show a "windows media player" icon and I can't play it anymore. I can't even open the sub directory to look at the other files without a window popping up asking me whether I want to send the "error file" to microsoft. Has anyone had this "arbitrary" problem?

Maybe try using my guides and see if it is doing the same thing. BigDs Video Encoding Guides Also what Ver. of Divx are you using? I recommend 5.0 because it seems to have alot less bugs, at least until they get 5.1 fixed right...You can find all the tools/links including Divx5.0 needed for my guides at my site.

Are you using a Sandisk CF card to store the movies on? I've had problems playing Windows Media files from Scamdisk cards but found they play fine on non-sandisk cards.

SPikes I didn't think people had problems with Sandisk CF cards. I knew about the sd card problems but not the cf card problems.

That is the odd part. The files are saved on my hard drive and that is where they get corrupted. Someone suggested that I do a chkdsk (scandisk) for xp and a defrag....so I'll see if that helps
