AvantGo Problems - Please help
Ok - Just to start off, I have spent the last few hours reading almost every post on AvantGo and I still have an issue.

The issue is that I swapped from a palm based PDA to the X5 Dell. I think I did all the steps required to convert it both on my PC and at the avantoGo web site. I sync up using AC and I can see the files updating. The problem is that I can't find them on by PDA. I have looked everywhere and have done a search (find) with no results. I have done most of the suggestions all to no avail.
Now all that being said I notice that on alot of the threads they say "Start->settings->connection->Avantgo. Then choose Sync all.
I don't have the AvantGo icon to pick from only an AvantGo Connection icon. How can I get the AvantGo icon?

I really enjoyed AvantoGo on my palm and would love to get it working on my new dell. Please advise.

PS - I wanted to post a screenshot to make it easier to explain - is that possible?

My guess is that you have the AvantGo Connect icon rather than the AvantGo Connection icon. To the best of my knowledge, there is no AvantGo icon.

The way you get to see your pages is by running Internet Explorer then, if necessary, clicking the Home icon which should load the URL file://\windows\default.htm - and this should have AvantGo as a link at the bottom.

cant find avantgo content on ppc
I have same issue going from my palmIII to my axim x3i. Avantgo link in IE points to file://\windows\agdefault.htm, not \default.htm.

agdefault.htm just says "avantgo provides free updated personalized content from ..." with no links or content.

\default.asp just has get connected links and an avantgo link back to agdefault.htm

I see the content download to the axim, I just can't get to it.

what you might try is to cradle your AX and on your PC go to https://my.avantgo.com/account/software_setup.html and then click on configure your device.If you dont see the conf. button you can get there by clicking on My Account, AvantGo Software and then choose Software configuration...Note you will have to log into your account or create a new one. Hope thats what you were talking about....

I already tried creating a new account from a different pc and doing the installation from there and I seem to end up in the same place where the avantgo shortcut in IE favorites just dead-ends me at this site telling me how to get connected. I've set up avant go to sync already and it sync's just fine. I'll go in and try this again but I think I already tried that...

Are you using PPC2003? If so, all you can do at this point is hard reset. I had this trouble and avantgo is integrated into 2003 and if something happens to the folder structure or content, then it doesn't work properly. Mine would sync data but never show me anything. Once you have reset your device, avantgo will go ahead and download the proper files that it needs to work properly. Then on the axim... you should be able to go to settings connections... and see the avantgo connect icon in the connections tab... click on it and enter your username and password. This should get you going... If however you are running 2002 you could try downloading the newest avantgo client. Or maybe I misunderstand your problem. The avantgo site doesn't care wether you are using a palm, 3 axims and an ipaq or whatever... provided it has the right files it should work properly

It did not work after the hard reset but then I got this reply from Avantgo support: A new installer is available for this device please try it at this link. Hope this helps: https://my.avantgo.com/account/downloads.html

Not sure if the reset was required but reinstalling via this link fixed the issue !!!
