Fair Use DVD to DivX Converter - Anyone Try it?

Came across this program (freeware) while reviewing the dvdrhelp.com web site.

Haven't tried it yet, but it appears to convert DVD's to DivX encoded AVI's which should play on the Ax with Pocket MVP. Has anyone given it a go??

Well I been messing around with this program a bit and all in all it works well for ripping your DVD and getting a divx video to burn back to a vcd...But it will not play in the PocketPC.Has lots of settings to make a real good quality video. I was able to get the video down to size with a fair good quality to play on the PocketMVP player. But it will only let you use the AC3 audio(which PMVP player dont like), and not let you choose mp3 in the process. So it is not as simple as running this program and then copying to your PDA....What you can do though is re-encode the audio through VirtualDub...By no means is this a simple one program solution to put your DVD on your PocketPC. I will keep working with it and try and find the best settings, since there are many, And I will then post a step by step guide on my site(That is if I can figure it out).. But for now I'll stick with the DVD2AVI guide I have, its alot more simple to set up than this program. When it comes to PocketPC video anyway....

Fantastic product ! Having no problems

I have been using FairUse for 3 days now and have had no problems at all. I have betapicards betaplayer on my x50v which is running the DivX files wonderfully. I downloaded FU and also the 2 codecs from another site. I posted previously to the multimedia forum about this product. I hope this helps anyone with converting dvd to pocket pc. The original program runs at a maz of 700MB finished with many user controls. Please post if you find this product as good as I do or is there something else better out there. The program is slow, but I have found that it is amazing. Now on my 21st video encoding project. Thanks Dan
