Help:with movie encoding

Ok im new at this.....:D But i have a 256mb CF card thats completely free and i ripped a 600mb 1h50min movie off my dvd. Ok i read the tutorial and I downloaded virtualdub but every time i try to convert it the file size comes like 1200mb I dont know what am I doing wrong please help

Have you looked at the other forums here dealing with avi's and mpeg's?

ok i found out what i did wrong i used Divx 5.11 codec instead of 5.05 i put the 5.05 on and everything worked like a charm :D
