Anyone use robot4rip for DVD Ripping?

Since I can't post over at Doom9's forums for the next five days I thought I would try here. Has anyone used robot4rip to rip DVDs? I am getting an error in my log file that reads this:

Quote:
Error: Indexing/Demuxing faild: Can't create process.
I have read all the guides I can find on Doom9 (which in my opinion doesn't seem to be very well organized) and I can't seem to figure out why robot4rip doesn't run to completion without any errors. It also doesn't create my dv2 project file like it is supposed to.

For anyone looking for a great site for DVD ripping check out Doom9.net. It is really indepth, just for me (an extreme newbie) I am having trouble locating information. It does seem to have a wealth of information on the site that might help out once you get familar with the process, which I am not.

On a side note, is it better to rip the DVD to a full sized avi or divx file then reduce the file to fit onto an ppc or is it better to do this while you are ripping the DVD?

Thanks,
-Eric

Eric, I dont know of robot4rip, I like Smartripper myself...I have a fairly basic guide to ripping and encoding on my website with step by step pictures.I prefer useing the DVD2AVI method also after you make your ripp. But some people like the DVDX2.2 method after the ripp. Take a look see at it and see what you think.

yup robot4rip basically takes allot of the pain of ripping a dvd , it was created by the wef, he also used to create gordain knot , the new version which is updated by members of doom9's site have a web site here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/g...p.exe?download
this is kinda the same and not much interaction, just read the screens.
welcome to doom9 BTW

cyph
EDIT:
did a search on doom9 for "robot4rip create process"
found this
Quote:
make sure that in Robot4Rip under the Tools-->Preferences--->Indexing/Demuxing toolbar that the correct path of Dvd2Avi is stored in Robot4Rip...if not, the program can't find it and can't run it. Once you find the path click save so it'll be set for next time you use it too.
