Playing Live 365 streams on X3i via WiFi
Has anyone been able to play Live 365 streams via WiFi? When I access the site via IE and then tap on play, nothing happens.

www.live365.com - excellent music streaming. I can find music here I can't find anywhere else. I was hoping to be able to stream to my Axim, but so far have been unsuccessfull.

Partial Success!!
I wanted to report back on my efforts to play streams via WiFi on my X3i. Using gsplayer, I have been successfull in play Shoutcast streams. But I still can't get Live365 (www.live365.com) streams to play. What happens is when you click on a play icon using Pocket IE in Live365, a little window pops up real quick and then disappears before you can read it and nothing plays. I think I know what happens. When you try this on a PC, a pop-up window appears that contains Live365's player interface. This happens even if you have told it to use your local mp3 player to play the stream. I think Pocket IE doesn't like this little pop-up window for some reason. Has anyone else run across this? I may try a different browser and see if I have any better success. I'd love to use Thunderhawk but have a problem with paying a monthly fee to use it.

Hi. If you have a select few stations that you usually play...this is what you can do to play live365 streams to your Axim.
1st click on the listen button of your station. If it opens another player other than your desktop mp3 player, change the preferences so that it plays in your desktop mp3 player. (the little pop up window is where you select it) 2nd. Using winamp as my default desktop player, i play the stream. In my playlist, i right click on the stream, then select "view file info". 3rd - Copy the URL of the stream to your clipboard. 4th - paste it into an email , mail it to an email account which you can access on the axim. 5th - Open the email from your axim. 6th- copy the url of the stream from the email. 7th - Open gsplayer. Click "file" - Open URL 8th - Paste the URL into the input box by using the soft keyboard shortcut (Ctrl-v) 9- Hit OK. It should start working. | ||||

Actually I had tried this way. But when I did it, it was attempting to download a 40MB file. I thought surely that couldn't be correct. I may try it again though. Thanks.

Success!!
It's working!!! Thanks alot for your suggestion - Cheaman. I did what you suggested and it works perfectly. Actually I did a little shortcut. Once the stream started in WinAmp, I pulled up the playlist and just saved the .pls file. I then copied it over to my Axim and gsplay played it perfectly. I am so excited. Now that I can play streams via WiFi and play directories of mp3 files off my desktop, my new Axim is doing everything I want it to. Thanks so much for your help.
