Recently I saw on this site, talk of a mp3/audio player that can be downloaded to the AXIM which allows you use touch screen controls. IN other words the buttons are large enough to just use your fingers when you are in your car using the axim as mp3 player. I appreciate any links to the download if you guys know what I am talking about. THanx!!

I use WMP, and the skin I use has large enough buttons to do what you're talking about---it's one of the standard ones, I think, called Moonlit Glow. But I'm sure there'd be others similar.

I, too, am looking for a solution similar to the one asked by punchy_head at the top of this thread. Over at mp3car.com they have several media players designed specifically for touchscreen computing in a mobile environment such as Media Engine. However, all are designed for Win 98/2000/XP. What I really want is a Media Engine type interface for PPC/Win Mobile 2003 SE to provide me with a customizeable front end that directs me to the GPS/Media Player/Whatever of my choice and large, easy to use touchscreen buttons for controlling said software (hardkeys are too small). Thanks for any input.

Also, as an interim solution, anybody know how I can make my own skins for Beta Player to make the buttons much bigger?

I think Mortplayer fits the bill. I just downloaded it this morning and I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, so I can't vouch for it, but it does have touchscreen functionality.

Thanks for the suggestion! I had been concentrating on Betaplayer lately because of video playback but Mortplayer has become my favorite audio-only media player. It works great as a mobile mp3 player and programming skins couldn't be easier (like programming html). Right now I'm working on a skin with a black anodized brushed metal background and round buttons that perfectly matches the appearance of my 1/2 DIN Soundstream MPQ-5XO preamp/eq. I'll post it once complete. The developer deserves your paypal donations to support this great app.

There is a WMP skin that comes with Microsoft Voice Command that has very large buttons - that could be used.

If you are using WMP, there is a skin called Pennock Audio System (PAS. It has big buttons and looks pretty good.
