Okay we will look together into this, but even if there isn't, could you explain me how you do this, decompress and recompress?

Also, if I would like to use xvid codec for ppc, so I can use this codec in VDub? Which settings would I use. I know the settings for xvid for a pc version (650mb) but not for pocket pc!

As I said, I use about 200-265kbps CBR for xvid for PPC, not really tried lower bitrates though, it might look fine. I just went for figures that'd let me get a certain number of episodes of TV series on my storage card (4 30 minute TV episodes at 205kbps w/ 48kbps mp3 audio or 2 45 minute TV episodes at 265kbps w/ 96kbps mp3 audio).

I tried yesterday evening with the xvid codec. It works great, now my question is, what advantages do I have over divx codec?
Is the quality better in lower bitrates, I still have to testconvert some different settings.

Also, could someone who knows explain me how to bypass the sync problem mentioned earlier in this post.

I've got no idea on the sync issue I'm afraid, using DVDs as my source i've never come across a sync problem, since I installed the latest Pocketmvp.

As for xvid, most say it gives slightly better results than divx, but really it is down to personal preference.

Actually, thinking about the sync thing, if you have the original DVDs then converting from them directly to the ppc version should eliminate the sync problems caused by the extra encode/ decode cycle.

Vdub does not allow to import video files directly from the dvd so I would have to use this VDubmod, no? I tried this the other day but it was not quite working.

virtualdubmod or virtualdubmpeg2 can both open the files directly once they've been decrypted and stored on your hard drive...
