This is a quick review using my new Dell 400x using the Windows media program. First of I'm running win98 on my computer and for ripping mpeg3 I'm using a freeware Mthreedev.com software package. Transferring the mpeg3 to the compactflash or digital media I use a USB device called Muitl-Flash made by a company called ACOM Data. This device can read/write compact Flash, DM,Memory stick,MMC and Mircodrives. Cost of this device is around $49. Using the mpeg3 set at 192mb I was able to download about almost a full CD to the SD card and about a CD and a half to the Compact Flash. I'm sure if I used the mpeg3 setup at 128mb I would have been able to store more data. The Windows Media program works great and my friends can't believe how good the music sounds . I hope this info helps some one out there.

Thanks. Good info.
Any idea why my PPC WMP doesn't play mp3? I went to the MS site and they say it should. Pocket MVP plays the files OK.

When I installed PocketMPV, I gave it association for mp3.
Now WMP is being petulant, and won't have anything do do with them.
(I can just see it sulking in it's folder ... Fine! If THAT'S what you want!)

OK, I figured out how to add things to the playlist. It works now.
WMP is smirking. "I, Robot" on deck!

I'm able to play mp3 quite well on the media player. In fact I would say the sound of the Axim is quite good. I enjoy listening to music while I work and if I don't listen to DJ Sammy's "Heaven" at least 6 times a day, it hasn't been a good day. Unfortunately none of my co-workers would enjoy sharing the experience with me.

I'm listening to mp3 through a pair of inexpensive ( dollar store special) bud headphones and have enjoyed the listening experience.
