Just wanted to share this info - DVD TO POCKET PC

I am testing this software out and it rocks so far, the only problem is Windows Media play isn't all the great, once and a while when I install a app it seems to kill windows media play on my axim,..

Here is the info...
Now you can convert your DVD's to your Pocket PC and watch them in great quality, with stereo sound and in full screen landscape mode. A memorycard as small as 128 Mb is sufficient to store a full length feature film, up to a hundred minutes. Take your DVD's on the plane, train or automobile, watch them on vacation, at work or at school. With only two clicks, this PC software converts the content of your DVD to a super small movie file, which will play on any Windows Mobile 2003 device, such as HP iPaq, on a postage stamp size memory card. You can use a headset or the built-in speaker to listen to the sound. Subtitled and foreign language DVD's are also supported. You wil have to see the quality to believe it, using Microsoft's supreme Windows Media 9 encoding, feature films look crisp and sharp on your Pocket PC and still fit on a relatively small Secure Digital card. On a 512 SD card, you can even crunch 4 films

No matter what I try, I can't get this program to work on either of my computers. It would be really great if I could actually get it to work though...

Alternatively, you could use a freeware ripping program instead (I will assume we're talking about a non-encrypted DVD as I believe it's an offence in the US to decrypt the CSS encryption), and then use PocketDivX which was posted here awhile ago to encode it to DivX, with appropriate resolution, widescreen, and increased brightness.

I'm looking for an all in one program. If it's going to take THAT long, I'll just watch it on my lappy!

Defsac,

What freeware ripping program would you recommend?

My sentiments exactly!!!

Some of the "solutions" offered for getting movies onto an Axim are too convoluted.........if not sadistic. The "Cool Factor" of having movies on my Axim does not outweigh the time and effort needed to get them there, for me.

Someone comes up with a "Fewer than 5 Mouse Click Process", I'd buy it and worry about the legalities later. I'm not looking to pass out my Movie Collection to anybody, but I wouldn't mind taking a few of 'em to work to watch when it gets slow........which at my job, happens on a regular basis.

Will this work on an Axim X5/400 with A04-PPC2k2?

I couldn't find anywhere on the site what PPC Version is required.......of course, I could be blind, but then why would I be wanting to put movies on my Axim?

Best solution I found to this day involves 2 programs, a couple of clicks and best of all it doesn't take 10 years to finish one movie.

DVDRipper and PocketDivxEncoder.

PDivxEncoder is the fastest I've seen, and the quality is just amazing!!!

I love it!
