Ripping DVDs, An easier way...
I thought I'd share this with some of the newbies doing it the hard way.
I'm super lazy and not as concerned about speed (I can let the dvd encoding stuff run for 3 hours as opposed to 2.5 hours) I don't like ripping to hard disk and wasting space and time doing audio stuff either... So I have found the laziest way to rip DVDs to an avi format that can be used with virtualdub. I rip directly off the dvd in the drive Simply download Flaskmpeg http://go.to/flaskmpeg and get http://www.digital-digest.net/downlo...g/css.mism.zip Install both to the same directory. Now start flask and select "file" then Select "open media" Make sure you change the "Files of type" to "Thunder DVD MISM" Then go to the "Video_TS" Directory of your DVD and select one of the ifo files. Usually VTS_01_0.ifo or something. Don't bother with Video_TS.ifo (that will just cause an error). Then click "open" (you should see something with the duration of about what you are looking for... if not close the window and look in another ifo file) Select the video/audio/sub choices of your desire... the click "Flask this DVD" The rest of the config stuff is up to you guys. if you need any help I can post more info. | |||
