Playing wma files from XP home to PPC
I am using Win XP home edition on my PC with a wireless network and have a WiFi card in my Axim X5. I can use the Axim to view the file on the PC, and it shows the file as a windows media file, but I cant play it from my Axim. Is there a way I can? I do not want to copy the file, just play it.
I would also like to be able to work my PC remotely with my Axim, if it can be done. I could not fine help on this subject at Microsoft for XP Home edition, just Pro. I have enabled remote assistance, but cannot get it to work.

What file viewer are you using? File explore will not let you open files on the network but a program called resco explorer will. Even after the trial expires it will still work.
I use VNC to see my xp home desktop. Slow but works.

Total Commander is freeware and will also allow you to open files from your PC. Resco is easier to set up, however.

You're welcome, Dan. It's a little off topic here, but thank you for your video guides. They have worked great for me.

Hi,
For remote control you can install VNC onto the pc ( www.realvnc.com/) and use a VNC Viewer ( http://www.cs.utah.edu/~midgley/wince/vnc.html) on the Axim side.

Not sure what format your S400 DigiCam outputs video, but in any case it will have to be converted in order to play on your ppc. Try running your clip through VirtualDub and use PocketMVP to play the converted video on your PPC. Guide on converting it here http://www.bigdsvideo.com/bigdsvideo...uides/id7.html

Well thats Great... How did you convert it? since you can play it on Windows Media Player , I take it that you used Windows Media Encoder to convert it....And Im sorry but I dont know of a way to increase the brightness using that App. but if you were to use VirtualDub(that is if VD can open your file to be converted) you can find brightness/contrast in the Filter section of VirtualDub. Then again , if you do run your file through VirtualDub it should play in PocketMVP , which does have a brightness feature built in. You can find it in the configuration settings of PocketMVP.Good Luck, Hope that helps yah.
