The Pocket "Clanger" Theramin v1.02

Nice app. the experiment with soundz.

.

The Theramin, Invented in 1919 by Russian Scientist Leon Theremin (1896-1993

You know what it is? Worlds first sythesizer.

In short.
A cabinet with an oscillator and two antennas. Now the pitch and volume of the signal can be vary by moving your hands in the front of the antennas. No need to touch them.

More info about the history of the theramin you find here

You can see Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin using a modified theramin at their 1975 Madison Square garden concert or the video of that gig "The Song remains the same"
Also The Beach Boys used a Theramin and many others did also in the classical music bizz.

Now you can use the Theramin yourself by using the stylus or your finger and move it on around on the multicoloured pad

You also can adjust several effects like you see in the below.

Download and info on this page.

The first four links on the above mentioned page don't work. So you need to download fron the links at the bottom of the page.

Enjoy.

Peace.
Henk.

Thix really is alot of fun ... it would be nice if it could record and/or remember stylus strokes as you play (there are so many great sounds)

This is amazing. I didn't realize the Ax could put out sounds like this. The high frequencies are especially impressive. I hooked it up to a good pair of Sony desktop speakers and the sound didn't sound as good to me. Can any of this harm the speaker if I play it too much? Becasue I know I will play it too much.
