Can we just have a list of all the software that can be used for
1-Click VIDEO to PPC VIDEO conversion.

Quick Recap:

I said Video because it could be DVD, could be Divx/xviD, could be Mpegs of VCDs, WMAs, etc.. etc..

Now, As far as I know we have following five solutions for 1-Click:
  1. Pocket DVD Studio 1.2 (My Favorite) [$] - http://www.pqdvd.com/
  2. Pocket DVD [$] - http://www.pocket-dvd-wizard.com/
  3. DVD to PPC 1.2.3 [$] - http://www.makayama.com/dvdtopocketpc.html
  4. PocketDivXEncoder 0.3.50 [Free] - http://divx.ppccool.com/
  5. DVD to DIVX v1.73b [Free] - http://www.autogk.net/
  6. mMedia's mVideo 1.0 [$] - http://www.mdvd.ca/
  7. Dr.Divx 1.0.6 [$] - http://www.divx.com/divx/drdivx/
  8. Windows Media Encoder [Free] - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...r/default.aspx

  9. Tutorials & Tools [Free] - http://bigdsvideo.tripod.com/

I will keep adding to the list as I find other One-Click S/W for Pocket PC Video's.

Player of my choice is BetaPlayer for Divx files. As someone said, the unstable release also supports mpg/mpeg videos.

No need to use a ripping program to save off the video to file to run through another program saving time, effort and system resources. mDVD is highly flexible allowing you to save the file to whatever filesize you want and it will automatically adjust its settings to meet the file size. mVideo takes an existing video file and converts it to Divx or WMV.

The app is $11.95 but it is well worth it. I have converted all three Matrix movies to Divx and the average filesize was about 217MB and the quality is outstanding. I have also been using several free methods of converting but after using this app I appreciate the one-step process.

This is an app that I would definately take a peek at. :)

I have tried to follow what little instructions they have, get nothing except errors. I have yet to get it to even start to convert movie. I have load divx codecs, load a dvd player software.. nothing... Can you maybe explain a littl ebetter what software has to be installed in order? Location speciifc?

I followed the tutorial. I opened the DVD and chose the video file. When I go to chose audio, it states "not specified". There are no audio files to chose.

Also when I go to select codec under video, I only have version 4.12. I cannot download version 5.0.3. I keep getting an error that the file is corrupted.

I continue but when I am all done, I have perfect video but no sound. I tried to play it on my pc and on my pda. No sound on either one. What am I doing wrong? Where are my audio files?

wow this guide is kind of old. Useful I guess, but I can think of many more tools that can backup movies and convert to small avi files.

Shall I say mediacoder?
