avi conversion problem

Got some videos that I encoded with pocketdivxencoder on my PC, transferred them to my Ax and tried to open with PocketMVP and Betaplayer. All it does is think. It won't play. Did I do something wrong? I read up on the conversion processes and I'm not doing a DVD conversion, just some vids that a friend took with his digital video camera and posted them for download. I was pretty sure that I had done everything right, but I may not have.
TIA

Can you play the converted files using Windows Media Player (on the PC)?

Yes.
The problem occurs after encoding and transfer to PPC. Doesn't play in either Betaplayer or MVP.

Hmmm, no idea sorry - maybe someone more experienced with Pocket Divx Encoder can help you - I usually use virtualdub.
