Worried Axim 5 WMP 10 compatible?

hi gang~

I was wondering if anyone if anyone has downloaded WMP 10? If so have you tried syncing video to the Axim and is it easy to set up? I was looking at the options and I like what I see, will it though be compatible with Axim?

Richard

All Pocket PCs are compatible, but they don't support the AutoSync feature. Pocket PCs work the same way they did with WMP 9.

OT, I love it how they expect users to install a "Technical Beta". Who in their right mind would put something like this on their "main" computer?

Why do computers make idiots out of smart people?

I imagine when WMP10 goes final there will be an update for WMP on the PDA -- but maybe they'll just bundle it with WM2005 or whatever...

cagey -- if you don't use WMP that much, i don't see any problem installing a beta... if you've ever used linux, 90% of the software you're using on there at any one time is a beta ... :D

For some reason, WMP 10 beta wouldn't see/use my SD card.

WMP 9 is fine with it.

Right, you know how much Microsoft integrates their software into the OS. I don't need my computer rebooting because of my media software.

maybe, but they're also not stupid enough to do something that would cause random reboots - windows is far more stable than that these days. i've not had it crash in, what, two years now? the only things that have crashed and taken the system down have been crappy third party software...

Its a technical beta, not a final release. How can you say it wouldn't cause problems. If it was fine, it would be a final. Hell it isn't even a regular beta.

Never Underestimate the power(ignorance) of Microsoft. Its like the "Dark Side" you don't see it but you know its there. ;) :)

I've had no trouble with the Axim X5 and WMP10. I tested it a few times with transferring files back and fourth and I can say that it moves faster than WMP 9 did. Also, it idn't have any issue with my CF card. I didn't try it with the SD yet, my wife has it with her today. All in all I would have to give it a thumbs up. Think about this, when WMP 9 was released, there were a lot of people with the same complaints and concerns that I'm reading about now.

So far i have only discovered minor problems. When going "online" in the player (surfing for radiostations etc.), the graphics @ the bottom freezes for a few seconds. One time the bar that shows how far the number has played goofed up completely until i chose a new song. There hasn´t been any crashes or anything like that

Yes, it didn't see the storage card on my X3 either.... the player has many problems.... i'm about to go see if i can downgrade to WMP 9... at least until they release a (non-technical) beta.
