How good is the freeware version of pocket music?

Is it considered the best?

Also WinAmPAQ looks good... It looks like it supports Pocket PC 2003 SE with a VGA screen (which is what Pocket PC i'll probably be getting, Asus A730, or Dell's offering if any).

I'm not sure, but I've heard Pocket Music is prety good. I only use WMP, that's why I don't know. :)

yeah i've used and like WMP, its fine, but the only problem is that I need better usage of playlists, or file access of some kind.

WinMediaPlayer just isn't quite as feature rich as I was looking for.

Is WinAmPAQ basically Winamp 2.0 ported to the pocket pc? does anyone know?

Well by the description, it only looks like it has the 'feel' of Winamp, and plays .wma's and .mp3's--no .mpu's.

PocketMusic3.0 will not download for me. Just keeps coming back to the same page.

If you go to their website you'll see that it is no longer free (now $20!), that is why you're having your problems.

Oh, well in that case i'll go with the free one... Looks like i'll go with WinAmPAQ

I dont understand why these Pocket PC programs are $20 all the time. I'm never going to pay $20 for a single simple program like that. I think they'd sell A LOT more for $5, i'd have no problem paypalling them $5 for a decent program.

But $20 is crazy, WinAmp is free, all other audio players are free.

So i'll just download a free player.

Yea, I only buy a $20+ program when I know I'll use it and like it. The only game that I paid $20+ was Worms World Party. It's great!

How about GSPlayer?

http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/

It does support Winamp playlists.

this is good (all ppc users should have)
though I don't need playlist (play in album-like order)
the major plus is streaming mp3/ogg support, which is a part of digital wireless headphone

That is incorrect! Scroll to the bottom and download the whole package. Uninstall the extra's, and only keep the player. Free! Enjoy!
