Hi. I posted this earlier in the X30 forum, not realizing that a multimedia forum existed. Sorry about the duplication:
--------------------------------------------------------- Got my X30 High this week and am really impressed with it. I decided to try to set up a Shoutcast server so that I could listen to my own MP3s from wherever I have wireless access. I've used Shoutcast before, so setup wasn't a problem but for some reason, when GSPlayer connects it only buffers to a max of 37% and then quits. The server console shows the connection and then shows it closing about 12 seconds later. No other errors. My server is behind a firewall, but I forwarded the port and GSPlayer is connecting, if only briefly, so that part seems OK. I played with various bitrates/frequencies/stereo-mono and that doesn't seem to have any effect. Any guesses as to why the partial buffer/quit behavior? My server IP, if anyone wants to try to connect, is http://68.172.176.50:8000 Thanks in advance. | ||||

Following up my own post...
The problem seems to be with my bandwith. I connect immediately to any other Shoutcast server. But even when I set my DSP plugin for 24kbps/22.050/Mono, and adjust the GSPlayer's buffer and pre-buffer sizes waaaay down, I can only connect for a second or two and then it re-buffers. I guess that's a problem with my ISP? Is there any setting I might have missed? | ||||
