"Key lock" for Axim while playing mp3's ?

Greetings. Almost 2 weeks now with Axim and I love the thing! This might just be something I haven't figured out but is there any way to lock the "keyboard" (or the whole screen in the case of PPC) with some application/trick during the mp3-playup? This is a feature you will without a doubt find in any cellphone. How is the thing with a Pocket PC having a 10+ times bigger input area?

I mean this is what happens: I start listening to mp3's with Win mediaplayer and put Axim into the pocket of my jacket without any flip cover (don't wanna mess with it). I move along and after 15 minutes I notice the screen is full of random inputs and there are 5 more applications running on the backround by accident. This happens of course because of the modest friction of the screen in the pocket.

Any advices? Thanks in advance.

I am sure there are other apps that have this feature as well, but PocketMusic has a feature that allows you to turn the screen off while playing music. This has a couple obvious benefits, it saves battery power, and makes the screen inactive.

The display on/off action can be mapped to one of the hardware buttons. In fact, many common actions can be mapped to hardware buttons (such as stop, play, next, previous, volume, etc.). Mapping common actions to hardware buttons allow you to execute these actions even while the screen is inactive.

Map the button

There is a setting under the TOOLS>SETTINGS>BUTTONS to map buttons to certain functions. Just choose SCREEN TOGGLE and map a key to it, and this should hopefully solve your problems.

m.o.w.e.,

Assume you are referring to the SCREEN TOGGLE that is part of the WMP? However, I know there are utilities that perform this function for any app, the ScreenOff utility for example.

Almost all MP3 programs have the capability to map keys, and to map a "screen toggle" to those keys, so you should eb able to toggle the screen, and control the playback with the hardware buttons.

Yes, SCREEN TOGGLE was the magic word. I think my life with mp3's will get a bit easier after these advices. Thanks again all of you :).

Mine just got easier since writing that, I ended up getting the senacse, which is flip cover and has cutouts for the screen, and buttons. Aslo, on the side, the jog dial is revealed, so I have mapped pause/play, next track, and previous track to them :)

Hmm when I dim the screen and play mp3s on pocket music sometimes I have this problem as well, I think I will contact PocketMusic and see if they can create a feature to lock the device while music is playing - even a hardware button lock would work because I think the touch screen is sensitive in the pocket and thats what opens all the other apps, etc.
